Since our roof pitch is 30 degrees, we will cut one end of the 2x2 boards at 30 degrees and leave the other end square. This, and the sam e piece for the upper roof, are the only angled cuts in the entire roof that aren't 30 degrees.
You'll basically build the sam e thing again on the top. The angled pieces are con n ected using a pocket holes and screws.
Or you could use a m endin g plate to keep your trusses together. I cut all m y plywood siding to size before I stapled it up on m y coop. We are only attaching the front, back, and one side for now. We will attach the side that opens up later on. I've included all m y dim ensions in these plans, but you m ay want to double check your plywood siding dim ensions before you cut it.Custom Chicken Coop Designed by: Mick Telkamp for INSTRUCTION MANUAL Detailed plans and instructions to start building your custom coop today! Rem em ber all the an gles on the roof are 30 degrees. The fin ished dim ensions will be 23" x 90 ", which is slightly sm aller than our other side. It will be sm aller to allow for the side to hin ge down, Set it aside until you are ready to paint. Or, if you think ahead, you m ight want to paint the sidin g before you attach the trim to the outside.
Now you can staple on your plywood for you roof. All of our angles on our n esting box are all 20 degrees. Not to be confused with all the 30 degree angles in the actual coop. You can use regular plywood for this, or a scrap piece if you have one.
You will notice the sides of the nesting box are notched out. We will use that notch to slide the n esting box into the hole in the coop, and attach the plywood siding sides to the inside of the xownload we already have in place on the front wall of the coop.

You will cut a hole in the front of your coop for your n esting box to attach to the coop. I cut the hole in the plywood siding using m y reciprocatin g saw. You'll want the n estin g box to rest on the floor and fram e of your chicken coop. Once you have your nesting box in place, screw the 2x4 on the n esting box to the chicken coop using grabber screws.
I also added a 2x2, with a 20 degree angled end to prop the roof open while we are gatherin g eggs. I screwed it on with a grabber screw that I didn't tighten all the way, so the board had freedom to hin g up and down. Once our nesting box is com plete, we can attach the side that folds down.
You m ight need a helper to hold the coopp up in place while you screw the piano hinge on. Screw a couple of screws in, then hin ge it up and m ake sure it's straight before you finish screwin g in all the rest of the screws. Now you're all fin ished building your coop.
All we have left is adding finishing touches, and trim m ing the coop! I used regular 1x2's for m y dwnload.

I painted them before I cut them. So just m easure as chicekn go. When you're stapling your trim on, m ake sure you are flush and level on the corners and edges. For the corners, I stapled on e edge on, then m ade sure m y other corner piece fit right up against it, so there wasn't any downnload g. After everythin g is trim m ed out, we can add a few finishin g touches.
Like window bolts to hold the side up, and a hook to hang your basket on while collecting eggs.
